Top Background

Q1.   What is Therap Javafest, and what can I expect from the competition?

Therap Javafest is a coding competition for undergraduate students in Bangladesh to showcase their skills by developing innovative Java-based web applications. Expect challenges like an online screening test (20–25 MCQs), project proposal submissions and team-based project development. It’s a great opportunity to enhance your programming skills, even if you’re new to Java!

Q2.   Who is eligible to participate?

Participants must be:

  • Bangladeshi citizens.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate program (e.g., CSE, EEE, or similar) at a university in Bangladesh.
  • Not yet graduated (e.g., fresh graduates or those awaiting convocation are ineligible).

Q3.   How will I receive updates and notifications?

Stay updated via our social media channels (Facebook, Linkedin) and check your registered email for important dates and announcements.

Q4.   Are there internship or job opportunities for participants?

While we don’t offer internships at Therap, finalists may earn a chance for a direct interview with Therap. It’s a great way to showcase your skills to potential employers!

Q5.   I’m having trouble registering. What should I do?

If the registration form isn’t responding:

  • Use a PC or laptop with Chrome or Firefox.
  • Ensure your browser is updated and clear your cache.
  • Check that attached files (if any) are within size limits.
  • Still facing issues? Email us at support@therapjavafest.com.

Q6.   I didn’t receive an activation email after registering. What now?

Your account may already be activated—try logging in at therapjavafest.com . If that fails, contact us with your registered email, and we’ll assist you.

Q7.   I entered the wrong email or need to update my details. Can I fix this?

Yes! Email us with your correct details (e.g., email, phone number), and we’ll update your account. You don’t need to re-register unless instructed.

Q8.   Can I update my CV on the website?

Your CV isn’t required unless we request it later. If you’re facing upload issues, don’t worry—it won’t affect your participation at this stage.

Q9.   How should I prepare for the online screening test?

The test includes 20–25 multiple-choice questions on programming concepts (no coding required). Review our preparation guide.

Q10.   Do I need to use Java during the screening test?

No, the screening test is MCQ-based and doesn’t involve coding or specific language use. It’s taken individually, without external help or internet resources.

Q12.   I missed the screening test. Can I get another chance?

Unfortunately, the screening test window is fixed, and we can’t extend it. Check our website for next year’s schedule!

Q13.   How do I check my screening test results?

If you pass, you’ll be notified via email. You can also log in to your account to view your status. Results may also be posted on our social media.

Q14.   Is Javafest a solo or team competition?

After the screening test, you must form a team of two for the project phase. Solo participation isn’t allowed, as we emphasize teamwork.

Q15.   My groupmate didn’t pass the screening test. Can I team up with them?

No, only participants who pass the screening test can form teams. If you need a new teammate, select “I Want a Groupmate” in the Group Formation tab and connect with someone from the “No Groupmate List.”

Q16.   I don’t know anyone to team up with. What should I do?

During the ‘Group Formation’ phase, use the “I Want a Groupmate” option to join the “No Groupmate List.” Reach out to others on the list to form a team, or we’ll assist you in finding a partner.

Q17.   I need to change my teammate or team name. How do I do that?

Email us with your current team name, teammate details, and the changes you want (e.g., new teammate or name). We’ll handle it if the group formation window is still open.

Q18.   What type of project is expected?

You’ll develop a web application with a Java-based backend. It can be creative and open-ended—past projects have ranged widely in scope. Check therapjavafest.com for inspiration!

Q19.   Are there tech stack restrictions?

  • Backend: Must use Java.
  • Frontend: For monolith architecture, use Java-based tech (e.g., JSP). For microservices, you can use any framework (e.g., React).
  • Extras: You can integrate Android apps or AI (custom or off-the-shelf), as long as the web app is the main focus.

Q20.   Is there a theme for Javafest 2025?

While there’s no strict theme, we encourage integrating Artificial Intelligence into your Java web app. Get creative with your ideas!

Q21.   Can I change my project proposal after submission?

No, once the submission window closes, resubmissions aren’t allowed. Wait for the results before starting development.

Q22.   When is the project submission deadline, and can I edit after submitting?

The deadline will be announced via email and social media. No changes are allowed after submission, so finalize everything beforehand.

Q23.   When will I know if my project is accepted?

You’ll be notified via email, and results will also be posted on our social media. Check both regularly after the submission window.

Q24.   I’m new to Java web programming. Should I still join?

Yes! Javafest is a fantastic learning opportunity. The competition’s duration gives you time to learn and grow your skills.

Q26.   What if I have more questions?
